A candle is a lighting object that is also a small decoration. Standalone candles can be found in, but are not necessarily limited to, The Sims: Unleashed, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4.

The Shallow Tallow Candle Display shop stand was added in The Sims: Unleashed. The stand is most commonly staffed by Miss Lucille.

Players can choose to "Light Candle" or "Extinguish Candle". It takes up 1 small slot.
It was one of very few non-food items to be sold at supermarkets in the base game, alongside the Ducksworth of Bathington and the World's Brew Bubble Bath. Alternately, it can also be found in Buy Mode → "Sort by Function" → "Decor" → "⛬ Miscellaneous Decor", or relatively often when rummaging in outdoor garbage cans.

Candles were present in The Sims 4 since Patch 19 or earlier, according to the patch notes for Patch 20.
An additional candle was added in Patch 41. Mason jar candles were added in Patch 75.
Candles are known to work as lighting if the Off-the-Grid lot challenge is in use.

The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle[]
The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle added the Von Wick & Co. Candle Making Table workbench, which allows Sims to make candles.
In contrast to in The Sims 3, crafted candles will gradually burn out when used.

Sacred Wax must be in a sim inventory to create candles. 1 wax give 3 candles.
Sacred Wax can be obtain from Gildry when the sim is teriffied and from Specters with offerings.

Pottery in The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies has a Candle Lantern and a Candle Holder as possible objects to craft through it.
The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature[]
The nature press in The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature allows crafting 4 types of candles:
- Bonnet Beauty Candle.
- Floral Flame Candle.
- Flame of Floral Fruits Candle.
- Illuminated Firefly Candle.
