Bot fan is a lifestyle trait introduced in The Sims 3: Into the Future. It conflicts with technophobe trait. It is first available for children.
The boom in Bot technology has left many Sims fascinated and intrigued by these complex machines. While many Sims are at home with their organic bodies, some would prefer to be a Bot instead.
Attributes[]
- Bot fans will gain the bot building skill 15% faster than other Sims.
- Bot fans gain relationships with Plumbots 50% faster than other Sims.
- A Plumbot outfit can be donned by them (the "Activate Robot Mode" option will be available to SimBots too, but the function will not work and the action will be cancelled).
- Bot fans are more adept at using the bot building station.
- Bot fans are incapable of becoming a mermaid,[TS3:IP] unless you become a mermaid before obtaining this trait through any means, such as by cheats, earning a Major,[TS3:UL] or reaching Level 8 of a Social group.[TS3:UL]
- While "Activate Bot Mode" is greyed out while a werewolf[TS3:SN] is in werewolf mode, the "Transform into Werewolf Mode" option is not greyed out while in Bot Mode, meaning that the "Bot fan" trait can't be used as insurance against turning into werewolf mode at a bad time.
