Bakery premium content
If you have the Savvy Seller's Collection from Midnight Hollow, a replacement for Open for Business EP, you'd realize that the set doesn't allow you to sell food and make a bakery. Well, now you can! The Store team introduced the Baker's Station and Baker's Bazaar Collection premium contents!
First, these two store contents are considered separate for some reason. They're part of a store venue, so you won't get these parts separately anyway. EA is a genius. Instead of making this bakery thing functional alongside the crappy business system we got with Midnight Hollow, they separated this stuff so they can actually make more profit$! Also, remember the last premium content, which includes a lot of new harvestables? That set works well with this. A…
The Sims 4 will be released exclusively for mobile devices
In an exclusive discussion with EA, The Sims Wiki was informed that The Sims 4 will be made exclusive to iOS, Android and Blackberry devices and will forgo a PC release.
Lucy Bradshaw, the General Manager at Maxis said to us, "The mobile platform has been very successful for EA in its entirety and we want to bring the best possible experience for The Sims to mobiles and for that, we have decided to ship The Sims 4 exclusively on the iOS, Android and Blackberry platforms."
"I understand that some of our PC player base may be disappointed but we at Maxis can assure you that we want to provide the best possible experience for our players and we feel this is the right decision. There was a unanimous decision within both EA and Maxis to shift devel…
A bunch of new harvestables!
EA has released another set in the Store again. This time, it's not a special premium content, but rather, they gave us 8 new harvestables in Bohemian Fruit and Nuts set! The harvestables are blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, pecan, pear, peach, and cocoa.
Nothing special with this set, but if you like additions for your Gardening collection, you might want this set. Personally, I love the idea because I love collecting in the game, but the execution is rather poor. Basically, all 8 of these harvestables are copies of lemon, which is a copy of apple. They are common, have the same selling values, have the same fertilizer values, and can be used as ingredients; cooking, mixology, and nectar. Yes, have you heard about cocoa nectar? All these s…
Glass blowing premium content
It's been a while since I last wrote a news blog, but here you go! Just yesterday, the Store has released another premium content: Artisan's Glassblowing And Jewelry Making Station!
This premium content is rather fascinating. As the name implies, it's a glass blowing station, which you can use to craft accessories, objects made out of glass, and perfumes. One thing I love/hate from this set is that it comes with a new Artisan skill. On one hand, I love that there's a new skill variation for Sims to learn, but on the other hand, this is a custom skill, and therefore has no purpose at all besides using this glass blowing station. Yeah, what else can you expect from a custom skill anyway?
It goes without saying that the higher Artisan skill the …
New store world: Roaring Heights
Despite Into the Future being the last EP, EA hasn't stopped producing new contents for The Sims 3, obviously. This time, EA has announced a new store world, Roaring Heights! The world is set to be released on December 12th.
The town is decorated with Art Deco style of buildings. It looks a lot like a city than a suburb to me, and it's been long since we had a city before, namely Bridgeport and Starlight Shores. It appears that the world adapts retro theme, but that seems fine to me. Personally, I've been waiting for a rather normal-looking world since Lucky Palms. Further than Lucky Palms, all store worlds are thematic and they can't blend well with any other EPs. Sure, Lucky Palms is thematic too, but it's generally normal than the rest, like…
Tractor premium content
Due to my real life business, I haven't been able to write up this release blog until now, so apologies for the lateness.
Approximately last week, on November 7, 2013, the Store team has released a new set, Grandpa's Grove, for 1,900 SimPoints (no sale this time). So what does this set provide?
- A large, space-consuming, farming-style residential lot. Looking good for your grandpa, farmer Sim, or a farmer grandpa!
- Tractor premium content, another thing that will complement your farming set. Another real aid for serious
gardenersfarmers. - Oranges!
Talk about the venue first! Unlike previous venues, this venue is a residential lot. It's still space-consuming as always, but it really looks neat in a farming area, like Riverview... Well honestly, it o…
The Sims 3: Into the Future release
In an attempt to keep on the tradition of game release blogs, I'm writing this one for The Sims 3: Into the Future. It was released on October 22, 2013 in North America, so this blog was released 2 days late, so pardon me.
So the future for Sims is here now! "If it's not holo, it hovers," basically sums up what stuff are in Into the Future. Yup, jetpack, hover cars, hover bots, holographic walls, holographic pets... In terms of "realism", this is the second pack to not get any closer to realism, after Supernatural. I'm saying this because even though there are many interpretations of how the future would be like, EA once said that this is how they envision the future era in the world of Sims
Door of L&D premium content
I suppose The Sims 2 players are quite familiar with the term "L&D", no? It stands for "Life and Death". So yeah, check out the latest premium content in the store: Door of Life and Death! Pretty cool, isn't it? SimGuruTaterTot has shared the designer's thought in her blog. You can read it here.
This premium content comes in a set that's bundled with Grim's Ghastly Manor venue for 1,900 SimPoints. It didn't surprise me though, since most premium contents nowadays have to come with venues I don't need. Mainly because I don't need two of the same lot assignment in one neighborhood. This venue is set as a graveyard, and it's pretty much appropriate. It's quite wide, however, in size of 50x25.
That being said with the venue, what does the door offer?…
The Sims 3: Movie Stuff release
Pardon my lateness! It seems that I'm having the habit of writing a release blog late, and I even wrote a blog about Midnight Hollow, while Movie Stuff predates the world. So anyway...
On September 10, 2013, The Sims 3: Movie Stuff has been released! The stuff pack includes three movie genres / themes for the game: superhero, western, and horror. The game also adds three new favorite music and radio stations in the pack: Epic, Western, and Spooky.
Personally, I can't say much about this pack. This stuff pack is pretty much a bunch of costume sets, but only comes in three themes. The western stuff is too much, since it barely has any useful purpose in the game. We need country set, which has been fulfilled in Pets, and some western decors can be f…
