BeyondSims (formerly SimPrograms) is a fan site about Maxis games and The Sims series.[1] SimPrograms was started by Jud Hudson on August 18, 2000 and has since provided frequent updates on any and all news related to The Sims series. Originally, it started as a personal blog for 3rd party applications for The Sims, but has since then grown to become its own community. At one time they released a few podcasts, but were unable to make it a regular update on the site.[2] Sporeprograms was a sister-site and could be found at Sporeprograms.com.
In Autumn 2012, the focus of SimPrograms changed from providing downloads for the game, to serving as a community fan and news site only. As a result, on December 5, 2012, the name SimPrograms was replaced with BeyondSims. With the closure of TheSims2.com, BeyondSims has resumed hosting patches for The Sims 2, but no longer hosts tools for The Sims series. The old domain name, http://www.simprograms.com/ redirects to http://www.beyondsims.com/.
