Beau Broke ( /boʊ broʊk/) is a pre-made playable toddler Sim residing in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. He is the middle son of Brandi and the deceased Skip. He has a teen brother named Dustin, and will have another brother after Brandi gives birth.
When the family is first played, Beau is 2 days away from becoming a child and has not learned any toddler skills, though he is close to completing walking and is about a third of the way through learning potty-training. He is far from learning how to talk, however. He has blond hair and dark-blue eyes. He is the only pre-made playable base game Sim that has no pre-made memories. If he becomes an adult, he will be voiced by David Boat.
When Beau grows into a child, he has a hairstyle that can only be accessed in CAS debug mode. The hidden style is very similar, but not identical, to an un-hidden style (the texture is different and the locks are more symmetrical). It's possible to make Beau's gibs hairstyle available in normal CAS with The Sims 2: Nightlife. Nightlife added 3 hats for toddlers. Toddlers wearing the hat will have the hidden gibs hairstyle when they grow up into a child. Beau's hairstyle can also be enabled for other Sims through the use of a mod, available here.
Beau's name is French for "beautiful" or, in the case of a male, "handsome", and it's pronounced like "Boh". Through SimPE, it is possible to see he has a hidden Knowledge aspiration token, hinting at the aspiration Maxis wanted for him, though the player can choose any aspiration they wish when he becomes a teen. Beau and Ariel Capp are the only pre-made toddlers in The Sims 2 base game.
