Bayless family
Bayless family
Description
The origins of the Bayless name are a bit hard to track down. Written records (where legible) even two generations back use the "less," "liss" and even "lies" suffix varietals. Debt prison records from 1788 list one Phillipe Bai I'Est as a catfish-thief and "chronic renegor" but lineage is circumstantial at best, and like little Chase says, "Why y'all cares 'bout 'postrophes?"

The Bayless family is a family, introduced in The Sims 3: Ambitions, that resides in Marsh Mansion at 153 Herschel's Pond Road, in the backwater bayou portion of Twinbrook. The house is complete with a garage door in the kitchen and a camouflage theme in most rooms, which matches the outdoorsy nature of the Bayless family.

The traits of the members of the family, as well as the skills they have, location and design of their house, and their personal attire show that the Baylesses are a very close-knit family who are quite fond of the outdoors, with fishing in particular. All four members of the family have at least some fishing skill and all of them have the Angler, Family-Oriented, and Loves the Outdoors traits.

Some focus is placed on the origins of the Bayless family. The in-game biography of the family, as well as Gwayne Bayless' biography tend to suggest that the family has been quite hard to track down over generations. No information exists in the family tree of any family member to show any relatives, although in the master bedroom there is an urn of a deceased Sim named Fly Bayless who possibly was Skeet's father. Gwayne's bio also hints at potential inbreeding, by indicating that anyone who tries to track the family line is only "led in circles." However, this might simply indicate poor record-keeping which, given the suggestion of a tendency to "forget" to pay bills and theft, could be deliberate. There is a junkyard named after them.

Since they have their house in a very cold and dark area with a small home and little cash, it can be assumed that they are a poor family.
