Avril Lavigne is an NPC introduced in The Sims: Superstar. She can be found on Studio Town lots. As with other famous NPCs, Sims can ask her for an autograph. She is a reference to the real life singer of the same name.

- Avril ended up being a difficult NPC Sim to code due to many restrictions that her team had, and the many approvals that had to be sent; for example she could not pee or have a relationship with another Sim.[1] The extensive programming and codework led the developmental team to not create a fame-focused expansion for The Sims 2[2]
- Though, The Black Eyed Peas in The Urbz: Sims in the City (console) are playable, but celebrities like Hilary Duff would be made available as a playable Sim as an official download from EA from TheSims2.com and a playable character in The Sims 2: Pets for console. The same also goes for Katy Perry in The Sims 3.
