Art appraiser is a career featured in The Sims 3: University Life. This career is associated with rebel social group. Sims can be employed from the newspaper, computer, or abandoned warehouse if they reach the top level of rebel influence. It is mandatory that Sims maintain their rebel influence at the top level, or else it would lower their performance. Sims have the responsibility to scan artwork to keep their performance high. Once they reach level 6 of either branch, which are appraisal and acquisition, they need to practice their painting skill.
Art appraiser does not have any career events that will occur during work time. At level 4 onward, Sims can pick up side job at the abandoned warehouse to get a career opportunity. At level 6 of either branch, Sims can take an advanced art training at the abandoned warehouse, which will trigger "Advanced Art Training" opportunity. Completing the opportunity will trigger an opportunity chain, i.e. "Skilled Painting", "Brilliance", and "Masterpiece". Completing these opportunities will reward Sims hidden traits that enable them to paint paintings at any skill, paint brilliant paintings, and paint masterpieces at will, respectively.
