Ariel Capp a pre-made playable Sim residing in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She is the youngest of four children born to Goneril and Albany Capp. She has two older sisters Miranda and Desdemona, and an older brother Hal. Her cousins are Tybalt, Juliette, and Hermia. When the family is first moved onto a lot, she is 4 days from becoming a child. When she becomes an adult, she will be voiced by Zoe Galvez.

Being a toddler, Ariel doesn't have a prominent role in the Veronaville storyline. Her bio states that she doesn't want to get lost in the large amount of people in the house. Because she has no defined personality nor prominent role, she can basically grow up to be anything the player wants her to be, though many players make her a Fortune Sim because that seems to be the Capp's dominant aspiration. She has not learned any toddler skills. If FreeTime is installed, her predestined hobby will be nature.

Once Ariel ages into a teenager, she will have mutual feelings for both males and females. This means that she will become bisexual. However, it's up to the player to decide what sex she will go out with, if at all. Ariel and Beau Broke are the only pre-made toddlers in The Sims 2 base game. Even though Ariel has blonde hair, her dominant genetics are for red hair, while her recessive genetics are for blonde hair. She also has recessive genetics for grey eyes.

It is unexplained how Ariel has top fitness at the start of the game since it is impossible for toddlers to work out. It is likely the developers made her fit in terms of consistency with other members of the Capp family. When editing in SimPE, Ariel's zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why she doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do. When she becomes a child, she will have the same hairstyle as Renee Andrews from Strangetown.

Strangely, if Ariel's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, she will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because she will have the fitness texture for thin Sims when she becomes a teen instead of the one for fit Sims. This will become more apparent when she becomes an adult.

This implies that she was originally thin and her fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for her to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is wait until she becomes a child and have her overeat until she becomes thin, and then workout until she is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

Ariel is a spirit, controlled (but eventually freed) by Prospero in Shakespeare's The Tempest.
