Antonio Monty is a pre-made playable Sim who can be found in Veronaville from The Sims 2, and in Monte Vista from The Sims 3 Store. He is a member of the big Monty family, who are feuding against the Capp family. He is the second-born child of Patrizio and Isabella, and the brother of Bianca and the late Claudio. He was married to the late Hero and has twin children, Beatrice and Benedick, but as of The Sims 2, he is a widower.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 3

Antonio appears as a toddler in Monte Vista, one of the worlds available for purchase from The Sims 3 Store. He lives with his parents and sister. At this time, Claudio hasn't been born yet, as Isabella is still pregnant. He's good friends with all members of his close family, though he hasn't met his grandparents yet, Valentine and Silvia. In this town, the Montys haven't met the Capps yet, so there hasn't been a family feud at the time. Antonio is one of the only toddlers in Monte Vista from The Sims 2 base game; the other one is Goopy GilsCarbo.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Antonio and all other living members of the Monty family live in Veronaville. He's married to Hero and has twin children, Beatrice and Benedick. Antonio is a widower, as Hero is already deceased. He works as an Executive Chef in the Culinary career. All the members of the Monty family work in the Culinary career, which means they appear to be a long line of cooks. When Veronaville is first played, he and his children appear in the family bin, waiting for the players to move them in. He is 18 days away from becoming an elder. Antonio is voiced by Dave Boat.

Antonio's memories reveal that he had a good childhood, learning all three of the basic toddler skills from his parents. He began working in the Culinary career track since teenhood and met his wife, Hero, early in his adult life; she was his first and only romance. Oddly, despite remembering marrying Hero and having the twins, he doesn't have the memory of having WooHooed with her. Antonio's highest interests are Crime, Food, Work, and Paranormal. He is overweight, like several other members of the Monty family. If FreeTime is installed, his predestined hobby will be science.

The Montys and Capps have begun feuding in Veronaville. Antonio is enemies with Regan, Consort, Goneril, Kent, and Tybalt Capp. He is also considered an enemy by Albany Capp. While most playable Sims in The Sims 2 had their first kiss as a teen, Antonio had his first kiss as an adult.

A wedding cake that is named after Antonio is available in buy mode for The Sims 2. He is the only family bin Sim in The Sims 2 base game that is not unemployed. When editing in SimPE, his zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why Antonio doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do.

Even though Antonio has reached level 6 of the Culinary career, he doesn't have the corresponding career reward available for him to purchase. Consort Capp, Patrizio, and Isabella Monty also have this quirk. As such, the reward will have to be made available with cheats.

Antonio uses a pre-made CAS face already in Create a Sim, for the third skin tone for adult males, with the short spiky hair, combed eyebrows, stubble, and vandyke beard. The obvious differences are the eyebrows and nose, which use the 17th Maxis face template, the jaw, which uses the 27th face template, and the mouth corners, which have been turned up slightly. His default thumbnail shows the suit in low resolution; this can be fixed by changing his appearance in the mirror.

Strangely, if Antonio's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, he will be thin instead of fat. This is also the case with Buck Grunt and Claudio Monty. The reason for this is that he has the fitness texture for thin Sims instead of the one for fat Sims.

This implies that he was originally thin, and his fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for him to have the fitness texture for fat Sims without hacks is by having him work out until he becomes thin, and then have him overeat until he is fat again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

Antonio is a sea captain in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. He is also the merchant in The Merchant of Venice.
