Amaya Flores is a pre-made playable Sim residing in Garden Heights, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims Pet Stories. She is Alice Whitt's best friend. She provides moral support and advice to Alice throughout Best in Show. She has a dog, Roscoe. Amaya is looking for romance, but only with someone who loves dogs as much as her. She first appears in the story when she comes over to Alice's house with Thomas Jones. Alice explains her financial problem and her decision to enter the dog show to Amaya and Thomas, and Amaya gives her an A-frame to train Sam for the dog show.
Amaya meets up with Alice to chat over coffee much later in the story. She also comes to the dog show final at Bartholomew Greens to support Alice and her dog Sam. She gets into an argument with another finalist, Diana DeBore, who is an enemy of Alice. Alice and Sam end up winning the show. The day after the dog show final, Amaya is invited over to Alice's house, where the story comes to an end. After the story, Amaya and Roscoe become playable.
Amaya has the Romance aspiration and the Sagittarius zodiac sign. As far as personality, she is extremely active and quite playful, but she is somewhat grouchy, quite shy, and very sloppy. She has no skills. Her main interests are Fashion, Weather, and Environment. Amaya shares her surname with Basil Flores from The Sims 3. However, there's no indication that they're related. Even though none of her facial features use any of the broken Maxis face templates in Create a Sim, when Amaya grows into an elder, it becomes clear that her facial features are nonetheless broken.
