Acting is a skill introduced in The Sims 4: Get Famous. The acting skill allows Sims to portray an array of emotions on demand and become better in the Actor career and in the Drama Club.

Acting skill is available for Sims aged teen and older. Sims who are confident are able to build this skill better. Ways to build this skill are:
- Using a mirror.
- Using a microphone.
- Reading skill books.
- Performing a scene on other Sims.
- Sitting in on an acting skill class.[TS4:DU]
- Taking an acting elective class while attending university.[TS4:DU]
- Research "Acting Techniques" using the Electromagnetic Research Archive Machine. (Requires level 4 of research & debate skill)[TS4:DU]
